Principal Owners
A father and son team with decades of development and construction experience.
Kreg Rowe has spent over forty years in real estate development and construction. He earned his California broker’s license in 1977, straight out of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he studied Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate and Finance. After brokering large acreage and commercial deals on the Central Coast, he moved to Sacramento in 1979 to specialize in apartment communities with Grubb & Ellis.
In 1982 he formed his own syndication and development company, which acquired, developed, and managed more than 3,000 apartment units and several commercial projects valued at over $300 million. Beginning in 1988 he served as an institutional pension fund advisor, handling acquisitions and asset management across the Western United States for clients including CalPERS, the Illinois State Teachers’ Retirement System, the Pennsylvania School Employees’ Retirement System, and Executive Life Insurance Company.
Kreg moved to Northern Nevada in 1995 to develop Double Diamond Ranch, an 800-acre, 3,000-home master planned community in South Reno. As Founder and Managing Partner of Tanamera Development and its predecessor companies, he has since overseen close to $3 billion in high-end residential and commercial projects.
In the early 2010s, Kreg and his son Justin began building custom mountain homes in Truckee, first in Schaffer’s Mill, where their work included the 2014 HGTV Dream Home, and then in Martis Camp and Old Greenwood. Lost Sierra Homes carries that work into Grizzly Ranch.
Justin Rowe is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Lost Sierra Homes and the Founder of StoneHaven Construction & Development, a Nevada-based development and general contracting firm he launched in 2022 after 13 years with Tanamera Construction and its custom home predecessor, TD Homes. Today he oversees construction on Tanamera’s large-scale apartment communities and commercial projects, builds high-end custom homes in Northern Nevada under StoneHaven, and leads design and construction for Lost Sierra Homes in Grizzly Ranch.
Justin joined Tanamera in 2009 after earning his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Colorado Boulder, with an emphasis in Finance and minors in Economics and Real Estate. He started in the production home division, where he completed and closed more than 560 single-family homes. As the company shifted toward multifamily and custom work, he moved up through Lead Project Manager to Vice President of Operations, managing the field teams, budgets, and subcontractor relationships behind Tanamera’s largest projects, along with the mountain custom homes he and his father built together in Schaffer’s Mill, Martis Camp, and Old Greenwood.
He holds general contractor licenses in both Nevada and California and served as the elected President of the Builders Association of Northern Nevada in 2023 and 2024, an organization of roughly 700 member companies. He also continues to advise on Tanamera-sponsored developments, with a hand in entitlements, design review, value engineering, and construction management.
What Justin brings to Lost Sierra Homes is a working knowledge of what it actually costs to build on both sides of the state line, and two decades of relationships with the Northern Nevada subcontractors who make building in the Lost Sierra practical.
